Spirit of Akasha and Morning of the Earth

It is time for another journey to begin. This next adventure does not commence for several more weeks, however  joining Joel on the film Spirit of Akasha, has got me most excited.  The film is being made by the infamous soul searching artist Albert Falzon (Alby) in the spirit of his highly successful movie Morning of the Earth.

Alby and producer David Elfick created the iconic surf movie  Morning of the Earth in 1971. This beautiful film quickly became, and remains known to this day for its ground breaking techniques, surfing, exploration and soundtrack. In 2010 the soundtrack was listed in the book 100 Best Australian AlbumsG. Wayne Thomas  produced the films record which also became the first Australian Gold soundtrack album.

Along with it’s soundtrack the film Morning of the Earth stands out as a timeless work of art to surfers and non-surfers alike.  Directors Alby and Andrew Kidman, photographer Jon Frank, producer Chris Moss and Warner Music are now collaborating on Spirit of Akasha, a new film and soundtrack celebrating 40 years of  Morning of the Earth. This new movie following in the footsteps of its predecessor will be filmed around the world in exciting locations an feature an epic soundtrack.

This past February when Joel and I were in Hawaii we met up with Alby’s co-director Andrew Kidman and renowned photographer Jon Frank. They were on location shooting for the film and it was then that Andrew spoke to Joel about Spirit of Akasha.

Joel, his brother Kye Fitzgerald, and myself will be joining the filmmakers on an episode of their journey. Fortunately this means more travel. If you have a moment check out the blog, site and preview for the new film below. Aloha :D
